The driver of the vehicle was injured in the collision.

UPDATE (4:05 p.m.) — A man was suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries when his car was struck by a train in Rosedale Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Schaefer Lane and Pulaski Highway.

A man in a gray Volvo vehicle was crossing the train tracks and had made it nearly across them when he heard the train and his car was struck, said Baltimore County police spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher.

There are signs at the intersection of the road and train tracks noting a railroad crossing, but there are no arms to block the roadway, Rogers-Feher said.

The man was transported to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in serious condition, Rogers-Feher said.

The three-locomotive, eight-car CSX train was traveling from Jacksonville, FL to North Bergen, NJ at the time the collision occurred, according to Bob Sullivan, a CSX spokesman.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing, Rogers-Feher said.

http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/legsregs/directives/notices/n4510743t1.htm Maryland $2,262,428 plus 10% state match. Takes like 2 minutes in the Federal Rail-bought Association records to see the state bimbo in charge of railroad safety , the Federal Rail-bought Association area inspectors (well the whole clown group), and CSX safety guy/gal leading them around by their rail-bought nose rings all need relieved of duty and all their pay re-collected. 8 prior collisions at this crossing ALL listed as private crossing yet the crossing is listed as public in the FR(B)A records.
