White Marsh Police Collecting Shelter Donations

The Community Outreach Unit at White Marsh police precinct is taking donations for the Eastern Family Resources Center and the Family Crisis Center through January.

After a successful drive last year, officers in the Baltimore County Police Department's White Marsh precinct Community Outreach Unit are collecting donations for an area shelter.

The Eastern Family Resource Center, which has also been the target of a donation drive organized by the Overlea-Fullerton Business Professional Association, houses between 125 and 140 women and children and relies heavily on community donations.

"Last year we successfully collected donations ... This year we want to continue to support them and in addition we want to adopt several local families that need some extra help," wrote Sgt. Angela Mickle of the community outreach unit in a statement. "The holidays are particularly hard on families with health and financial issues. We are fortunate enough in our unit to be able to take the time to get involved, but we can't do it alone."
