Woman Carjacked At Gunpoint Outside AutoZone

The armed carjacking occurred Thursday night.

An armed carjacker remains on the loose after he pointed a gun at a woman and stole her vehicle Thursday night.

The woman, who was having car trouble, entered the AutoZone store in the 8300 block of Harford Road to buy an item, according to Baltimore County Police Department spokeswoman Cpl. Cathleen Batton.

When the woman left the store around 8:56 p.m. and got into her car, a man approached and opened the driver's side door. He pointed a handgun at the woman, and forced her out of the vehicle, Batton said.

The man then got into the 2009 Dodge Charger and took off southbound on Harford Road. As he neared the intersection of Harford Road and Linwood Avenue, the carjacker hit a parked motorcycle and bailed out of the vehicle, according to Batton.

Police responded and searched for the man with air and K9 units but were unable to locate him, Batton said.
