Free Parking In Parkville For The Holidays

The county announced Monday afternoon that metered parking is free for the holiday season.

If you're looking to do some holiday shopping in the Parkville area, you're in luck.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, and later in December, you'll be able to park for free in the Parkville area, according to an announcement made Monday by Baltimore County executive Kevin Kamenetz.

For two hours each day between Nov. 22 and 25, as well as Dec. 20-25 Parkville's 185 metered spaces will be marked with red bags and offered at a steep discount.

Additionally, parking will be free of charge in Towson, Essex, Dundalk, Arbutus, Catonsville and Pikesville.

"Every one of these free parking spaces is near great locally owned shops and restaurants," said Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz in a statement. "We encourage everyone to support the owners of these stores throughout the holiday season, and especially on Small Business Saturday, November 24. You'll find unique gifts and services while doing your part to keep the neighborhood economy going strong."
