Report: Dixon Resolves Probation Violations

Former Mayor Sheila Dixon made $27,000 in court ordered charity payments.

Former Mayor Sheila Dixon has resolved issues regarding a probation violation filed against her last month, according to multiple reports.

Dixon paid the $27,000 remaining balance of the $45,000 court ordered charity payments that were part of her plea deal. Dixon had fallen more than $13,000 behind in her payments, and previously claimed she didn’t have the money to keep up, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Dixon accepted a plea deal and resigned as mayor in 2010 after facing 12 charges of theft, perjury and misconduct in office.

Dixon, who was appointed to finish the term of Gov. Martin O’Malley in 2006, was elected in her own right in 2007. She was the first woman to serve as the mayor of Baltimore.

Just about two years into her first elected term she was accused by the State Prosecutor's office of misusing gift cards that were intended to go to charity, and accepting gifts from an ex-boyfriend, a developer that did business with the city.

At the time she portrayed the prosecution as a partisan attack by a Republican prosecutor.

She was scum but at least she had vision...that's something we can not say about China Doll Rawlings-Blake

I usually agree with Baltimore Matt on many issues but on this I have to disagree. Thanks to Dixon's vision of once a week trash pickup, my neighborhood now has a very serious rat problem.

How the hell is this piece of trash collecting a fat pension on the tax payers' backs??

My question is… what did she know? The state brought her down over the most minor of charges (we are not talking about her embezzling millions of dollars or being involved with organized crime). The move to let her keep her pension sounds like it was done so she would keep her mouth shut about larger statewide corruption possibly involving the governor and other city council members. I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory but if misallocating some gift card was all they had to get her on, in a city with a multi-billion dollar budget, it sounds like there are much worse problems at hand. I wish she would have spoken up because I think this rabbit hole goes deep.
