Tuberculosis Case Reported At Parkville High School

The Baltimore County Health Department will hold a walk-in clinic on Aug. 13

Baltimore County Health Department officials said Friday that about 60 members of the Parkville High School community should be tested for tuberculosis after a case of the disease was linked to the school.

It is not clear if the person diagnosed with the bacterial disease is a student or member of the faculty.

In a statement, the Health Department said though it is “very difficult to contract TB through typical school interactions, the Baltimore County Department of Health has mailed letters to approximately 60 members of Parkville High School Community informing them that they have been identified as a possible contact. The Department of Health is strongly recommending these individuals receive TB screening test from their healthcare provider or at a Department of Health clinic.”
