What's Closed For New Year's Holiday?

Monday, Jan. 2 is a public holiday.

New Year's Day falls on a Sunday this year, so that means, as with Christmas, Monday is the holiday for government offices. Here's what you need to know:

County government offices: Closed Monday

Courts: Closed Monday

Meters: Don't feed. Also, garage parking will be free. If you go into Baltimore City, parking meters will be running Monday, but not Sunday.

Health department clinics: Closed Monday

Senior centers: Closed Monday

Animal shelter: Closed Monday

Libraries: Closed Sunday, but regular schedule on Monday

CountyRide: Not running Monday

MTA: Sunday/Holiday schedule on both Sunday and Monday. No MARC train or Commuter Bus service.

Trash: If your trash would normally be picked up on Monday, put it out on Tuesday. If your recycling would be picked up on Monday, hold it until Monday, Jan. 9. Drop-off centers are closed Sunday and Monday, but will be open regular hours on Tuesday.
