Susquehanna Yoga was founded in 1996 by Suzy Pennington. Pennington is a certified Iyengar yoga instructor. B.K.S. Iyengar created the school of yoga that bears his name, known for its emphasis on proper body alignment and the use of props, i.e. belts, blocks, blankets, chairs, and other items. The purpose of the props is to reduce the potential for injury and to make it easier to move the body into various yoga poses. In addition to Iyengar yoga, Susquehanna Yoga offers classes in Hatha yoga, meditation sessions, special workshops and a monthly film series.
