Loch Raven Eliminated From Girls Region Tournament

The last local school in the girls basketball region tournament was knocked out with a loss Wednesday night.

After earning a first-round bye and defeating Edmondson/Westside in the second round, Loch Raven's girls were eliminated from the MPSSAA Class 2A region championship tournament Wednesday night.

The Raiders (No. 4) traveled to Randallstown (No. 1) where they were soundly defeated; the final score of the game was 42-19, according to the MPSSAA website.

Parkville and Overlea high schools were eliminated from competition earlier in the tournament.

MPSSAA action continues this evening when the Loch Raven and Overlea boys teams compete in the regional quarterfinals.

The Raiders (No. 1) take on Owings Mills (No. 8) at home in a Class 2A matchup, fresh off of a first round bye. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Falcons (No. 11) travel to Pikesville (No. 5) for a Class 1A matchup, following a 58-41 win over Bluford Drew Jemison STEM Academy in the first round. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.

Parkville's boys were eliminated from the tournament after a first-round loss to Patterson.
