Overlea High Students Qualify For International Competition

Eight Overlea students earned first or second place in the State Career Development Conference earlier this month.

A group of Overlea High School students earned the right to compete on the international stage in April when they won first and second place at the Maryland DECA State Career Development Conference earlier this month.

The students, part of Overlea High School's DECA program, competed against more than 200 kids from high schools around Maryland on Mar. 7 and 8 at the DECA State Career Development Conference in Annapolis, according to Keisha Maddox, Overlea High's Business Department Chairperson.

The students who placed either first or second in their respective competitions will be able to represent Baltimore County in the DECA International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, CA, held from April 23-27.
