An Overlea win over Pikesville, which earned a first-round bye, would see the Falcons take on the winner of a match-up between Bohemia Manor (No. 7) and Perryville (No. 2) early next week.

In Class 2A competition, Loch Raven (No. 1) didn't play Tuesday night as their high seed earned them a first-round bye. The Raiders take on Owings Mills (No. 8) in a home game at 6 p.m. Thursday.

A win for Loch Raven over Owings Mills will see them host either Carver (No. 4) or Edmondson/Westside (No. 5) early next week, depending on the outcome of their showdown.

The Parkville Knights (No. 12) were eliminated in the first round of Class 3A play, when they fell to fifth-ranked Patterson in a 70-34 blowout.

Play continues in the MPSSAA girls basketball championship tournament tonight, when Loch Raven travels to Randallstown.
