Parkville Girls Soccer Off to Solid Start

The Knights are 3-1 after a victory over Owings Mills.

's girls soccer team has won three straight games following a 8-1 one-sided victory against Mills on Tuesday.

In a game that saw Parkville take shots to 5 shots taken by Owings Mills, junior Holly Marsiglia led the Knights effort with five goals and two assists. Senior Laura DeGuzman scored twice while sophomore Kali Murphy recorded one goal for Parkville.

Senior Kaitlin Reth scored all four goals for Overlea, which could not muster any additional offense against Parkville goalie Tricia Strother. The sophomore finished with five saves.

Parkville's win at Overlea came after topping visiting Milford Mill, 6-0, on Thursday in the Knights home opener. Marsiglia scored four goals in that win, with Murphy and Madore scoring once each for Parkville.

Those wins came after a 3-2 season-opening loss to Chesapeake on Sept. 13. Marsiglia scored twice in that game.

Parkville's girls play at home against Sparrows Point at 4 p.m. Thursday.
