Pine Grove Middle School Teachers Honored By Chamber

Mike Maiste and Mary Ellen Pluember were recently recognized by the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce for Excellence in teaching.

Two area educators were recently honored for excellence in the classroom by the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce.

Mary Ellen Pluemer and Mike Maiste, who both teach at Pine Grove Middle School, were among 11 educators recognized at the economic group's Awards for Excellence in Education dinner Monday night at Martin's West, according to a news release from Baltimore County Public Schools.

The two were selected from among a group of nominees representing 37 Baltimore County Schools as suggested by principals, community members, and students, the release states.

Pluemer was selected as the geographical winner for the Northeast region while Maiste was selected as the grade level winner for Middle Schools, the release states.
