Parkville Musician's Song For Perry Hall Shooting Victim

Greg Wimmer, a Parkvillian who goes by 'yourpianoplayer' on YouTube, recently uploaded this video of a song he wrong for 17-year-old Daniel Borowy.

After 17-year-old Daniel Borowy was shot during lunch at Perry Hall High School, a Parkville musician wrote a song for the injured teen that's been making the rounds on social media.

The Baltimore Sun reports that Greg Wimmer, 31, felt like he needed to help when he learned of the shooting.

"Everyone in the community, they just want to do something to help, and I kept asking myself 'What can I do?'" he told the Sun. "I thought, there's probably nothing I could do to make a difference, but something told me to write a song."

The song, called "Daniel, We Pray" is posted to YouTube and attached to this video.

The song begins:

Daniel I don't know you, but I feel like I do
That Monday morning nightmare was so unfair to you
We know you're in pain, and you'll be back again
Oh Daniel, we pray...

Borowy, who has been hospitalized in critical condition since the shooting last Monday, is expected to recover.

What do you think of Wimmer's song for Daniel?  Tell us in the comments.

Some idiots posted NEGATIVE comments about this on the Perry Hall Patch facebook site. Regardless of whether the song is your cup of tea, it brings awareness to the situation. Anyone who would take time to post a negative comment about this great gesture by a member of our community has no heart and is disrespecting the community and the Borowy family.

Greg that was a beautiful tribute. For a "special" in many ways student, to survive his trials and tribulations to make it to 12th grade! And then for this to happen, simply eating lunch on the first day of school with your friends, to run away with fear of a maniac and get shot in his back, is just merciless. Thoughts and prayers -yes prayers! - from so many are still with you. You are a fighter Daniel, keep fighting.

Apparently my last comment was flagged. I'll clean it up: Surprise, Surprise, the offer is onlyRead More good for NEW customers. Yet I've been a "loyal" Comcast customer for over 15 years now, never late on a payment nor complained when my service failed or I've had an issue that wasn't resolved without me taking "above and beyond" steps. Comcast is a juggernaut that just doesn't care if once it gets your business. You get locked in and then are stuck until your "contract" expires. Mine expires 2/22/2014 or I could cancel and pay $200. I'm going to hold out and then cut cable all together and just have Internet service so my Rokus work. But Verizon FIOS is looking better by the day.
