PHOTOS: Carney Students Celebrate Summer Reading With The Ravens

Students who completed the Baltimore County Public Library's Summer Reading Program were treated to a visit from Ravens mascot Poe Friday afternoon.

After the Ravens defeated the Cleveland Browns in a Thursday night home game, students at Carney Elementary School got a special visit from a team representative.

The team mascot, Poe, stopped by the school Friday afternoon to reward 92 students who completed the Baltimore County Public Library's Summer Reading Program, according to an email from school principal Stacey Durkovich.

The celebration included individual photos with the mascots for students, crafts, food and prizes.

"We are so proud of our Carney readers," wrote Durkovich in an email. "Special thanks to our media specialist, Kathleen Wiles, for her hard work in encouraging the students to read and planning an amazing reading celebration for our students! Go Team Carney!"
