PHOTOS: Local Mom Runs Game Ball at Pro Bowl

After winning a voting contest, Joanne McShalley and her family headed to Hawaii for the NFL Pro Bowl.

A heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship officially ended the NFL season for most Baltimore Ravens fans. One notable exception, though, was supermom Joanne McShalley.

"My family and I had an amazing time in Hawaii!," McShalley wrote in an email. "We were treated like gold and attended the Players Reception and several VIP events. We helped the players build a playground at a Hawaiian immersion school as part of the Play 60 program."

McShalley, a Parkville resident, explained that she also ran the game ball onto the field after the coin toss as part of the opening of the Pro Bowl game.

"It was crazy! Truly the trip of a lifetime and a dream come true," McShalley wrote.
