Proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase technology for the school.

Book lovers take note.

The Pine Grive Elementary School parent-teacher association is hosting a used book sale later this week.

Friday evening, April 12, the elementary school (2701 Summit Avenue) will host the event from 5-8 p.m., according to a flier sent by event organizer Liz Foreman.

The Bearly Used Book Sale, named for Pine Grove's panda bear mascot, will feature used books aplenty, along with special guest readers, activities for kids and more, Foreman wrote in an email.

"The Bearly Used Sale is the first step in a nascent PTA fund drive to raise approx. $50,000 for the school to purchase much-needed technology," Foreman wrote in an email. "The fund drive will not officially kick off until next school year, but this is the unofficial start."

The PTA is also looking for people who might be interested in donating books, Foreman wrote. Anyone with books to donate should email her at lizzin63@gmail.com or call 410-870-2174. Donations are being accepted until April 11.

A flier for the event is attached to this article.
