Principals: Who's In, Who's Out

When the new school year begins in September, many local schools will have new administrators

Over the last couple months it's become clear that several area schools will have new administrators in their offices come September.

New appointments and transfers were decided at the May and June Board of Education meetings.

The replacements are effective on July 1, giving the new administrators some time to prepare for the coming school year.

Affected area schools include:

  • Carney Elementary School, where retiring principal Eileen F. Roberta will be replaced by former Prettyboy Elementary School principal Stacey L. Durkovic.
  • Harford Hills Elementary School, where assistant principal Melissa L. Powers will be replaced by former Campfield Early Childhood Center assistant principal Robin S. Rupprecht. Powers transferred to Glenmar Elementary School, where she will serve as assistant principal.
  • Parkville Middle School, where principal Murray G. "Buddy" Parker will be replaced by former Dundalk Middle School assistant principal Erin O'Toole-Trivas. Parker transferred to Western School of Technology, where he will serve as principal.
  • Pine Grove Middle School, where assistant principal Julia A. Dellone has been appointed to serve as principal of Holabird Middle School. Dellone has not yet been replaced.
  • White Oak School, where retiring principal Regina Martini will be replaced by former assistant to the superintendant, Melissa A. Whisted.
