State Recognizes Area Schools for Academic Achievement

Four area schools recognized for Maryland State and High School Assessment scores.

Four area schools were among the 70 Baltimore County schools recently recognized by the State Department of Education.

The School Recognition program honors schools that displayed exceptional performance on the 2010 Maryland School Assessments and/or High School Assessments, two types of standardized tests given to students statewide.

The Maryland School Assessment is an annual assessment program that tests grades 3 through 8 in reading and mathematics, while the High School Assessment is given to students in grade 10 through 12 to test their proficiencies in algebra, biology, English and government.
