Students who completed summer reading program got to kick off football season with Ravens mascot Poe.

 students kicked off the 2011 NFL season in style as the Ravens' official mascot, Poe, paid a visit Wednesday to the Parkville school.

The visit was a reward to the hundreds of students at the school who met reading challenges from over the summer.

In addition to getting their photo taken with Poe, students recognized during the assembly were also treated to ice cream sundaes.

The event also served as a pep rally as the Ravens prepare to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m,. Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.
