Parkville Towne Fair To Feature First Ever Beer Garden

Fair leadership recently secured a one-day liquor license to be able to serve beer at the Towne Fair.

It's a year for big changes at the long-running Parkville Towne Centre Fair.

First the Parkville Carney Business Professional Association, the group that organizes the 26-year-old festival, announced that the fair was being moved from Sunday to Saturday; now fair organizers have announced that for the first time ever the event will include a beer garden.

Preliminary discussions among organizers have suggested Lavender Avenue, a side street off Harford Road near Taylor Avenue, as the location for the beer garden, according to Michael Tull, the business association's president.

Beer from Maryland's Flying Dog brewery will be provided and served by staff from nearby , Tull said.

The Parkville Towne Centre Fair will be held Sept. 8 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and portions of Harford Road will be closed as a result.
