Flavor in Parkville

Shock Dr. Record's make Parkville home

I can't even imagine ending up somewhere else to start up our record store business and offices for Shockwave Magazine (a music magazine). We kinda stumbled into Parkville in search of the perfect place, and we think we've found it at the old Overlea Hobbies at 7914 Harford Road. We get people stopping by from time to time looking for the "hobby store," and I tell them if you're looking for trains, we don't have any, but if you want to start a new hobby, we can help. Myself and co-worker have lived in and or around Parkville all our lives, so it just seems so natural to live the next chapter of our lives right here on Harford Road. Whether it was working with local bands from Parkville or visiting family, hanging at Double Rock Park or visiting my parents graves, Parkville is home.

So if you're a Parkvilian for life or a transplant, love music, Rock and Roll or something else, we have a little bit of everything, and something for everyone. We love our local artists and musicians as you'll see from our wall decorations. Come by and check it out, we love talking about Baltimore's rich musical legacy, whether it's Frank Zappa, or Billie Holiday, we love Baltimore (and Parkville specifically).
