TONIGHT: Meeting To Discuss Future Of Harford Road Corridor

Parkville's Main Street Committee has organized an open meeting with the Baltimore County Department of Planning.

The good people of the have organized a meeting tonight with the Baltimore County Department of Planning to talk about the future of Parkville's business district and you're invited.

According to Andrea Messier, a Committee member, the sixth district planner for Baltimore County—Laurie Hays—is scheduled to attend the meeting. Messier said that tonight's meeting has been a long time coming—the Main Street Committee first sat down with the Planning Department back in July.

"We talked about our concerns for Parkville—we had just finished the streetscape project, that was the first part of the revitalization of the Parkville area," Messier said. "Now we wanted to move forward." 

Tonight's meeting is intended to get the ball rolling and will serve as an opportunity for all the stakeholders—property and business owners as well as residents—to voice their ideas and concerns about the revitalization of Parkville.

"We've conducted our own little surveys walking up and down Harford Road," Messier said. "There’s a lot of interest from folks to revitalize that area. [People want a] nice safe neighborhood to walk in, people love the idea of being able to walk down to the business disitrict—we want to create and preserve that hometown feeling."
