Allen and Sons have only caused issues in the short few months they have been at their new location. Parkville used to be very peaceful. Now Allen and Sons has moved 2 doors up from my house. I hear noise from them at all hours of the night, see them drinking alcohol during business hours then hop into their work trucks and personal vehicles. I am also getting harassed by men that work there and they make it VERY uncomfortable to walk out of my own home. I also am unable to open my windows due to the stench of alcohol from their lot! This IS disturbing OUR peace. We do NOT have central AC nor should I have to buy one just because they don't have respect. Also, we see them arrive from their so called "contracts" early everyday so they can hang out at the shop and drink the rest of the night. The latest they have been drinking on the property was 1:30am! This is ridiculous and you, Allen and Sons, wouldn't like it if it were YOUR house being disturbed. And the key word is house! Your business is not a personal hang out!
We have called the police several times and Mr.Allen himself decided to come to our house and fight my husband for calling them. I have several witnesses and plan to take this further. The owner also stated this was "HIS" neighborhood and he was going to buy us all out!
That's a drunk for you! Mr.Allen also before fighting my husband and waiting for police, called 10 of his workers to come back to the shop to defend him! I think enough is said here!

Thanks to the attention of Ben Allen,I have decided to delete my previous post.Ben has said I have slandered him and his company,therefore,I would like to apologize for any nonfactual/unprovable information and only state the facts in this review.
The issues with Allen and Sons started shortly after they moved into their new location,which is 2 doors down from my house.We have called the police 3 times for SEVERAL reasons which are:
Two of their workers in particular have made harassing comments to me,they also would stare at me and stand in their lot with a beer in their hand,and would whistle at me.All of these things they were doing were making me feel VERY uncomfortable to even come out of my house.
Also,we would watch them arrive back at their shop during business hours to get beer across the street and they would then spend a lot of evenings hanging out in their shop,drinking and being very loud.They also would bring their families which caused the noise to be more intesnse. We also complained They would use the business as a hang out to drink and the smell wouldn't allow me to open my windows.I do not have central AC so this also affected us.The latest we have heard loud noises from them has been until 1:30am. This has disrupted our sleep as well. WE DID FIND OUT YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DRINK ON A BUSINESS PROPERTY LEGALLY.

I am a Disabled Veteran.

Mr Ben Allen gave me an estimate, but when the day arrived for the work to be done... No Mr Allen. The crew had no idea what was agreed upon, & after discussing the job, the crew began. After 2 hrs they approached me stating “all done, wanna come look”. Mr Allen assured me this was an all day job, and as I suspected, the trees were NOT pruned properly. After discussing this with the crew, they went back to trimming. A boom truck was necessary for trimming one tree, but to my disapproval, the truck was used to trim ALL trees. The sides of the trees facing the street, & those hanging over my fence were not touched. Leaving the trees bare on one side, & untouched on the other. I AGAIN pointed out to the crew – Mr Allen said that someone would be CLIMBING into the trees to prune them, & I needed them trimmed properly. He stated “we cant take off no more, its bad for the trees”. I did not want to harm them in any way, so they are left looking horrible & improperly trimmed.
As the boom truck was leaving, the driver lost control & smashed my fence & gate. After months of aggravation & numerous calls to Mr Allen, he became rude, vulgar, & seemed to fly off the handle without warning. I've hired a professional fence company to repair the damage.
The MD Attorney Generals office is conducting an investigation, & grievances have been filed with the DNR, & BBB. Hire another company, this ones NOT worth the headache. Thank you for reading my review.

Mr Allen posted FOUR of his own reviews to improve his "star rating". Dont be fooled. He has NOT told the truth.

Rather than dispute his allegations, I will wait for the Attorney General's findings, and post them accordingly.

As for "who made first contact" with those agencies... its on record... check for yourself. Or better yet, just hire ANOTHER tree service. Do you REALLY want this guy on YOUR property?

Its been a year since the damage was done, and still, NO PAYMENT has been made for the fence. My "bad reviews" didnt begin until three months AFTER the incident occoured. After it was obvious Mr Allen wasnt going to pay for the damages.

YOU make the call... is this Tree Service the one for you?

Check back in a few weeks, or call the agencies - BBB, DNR, AG... he's on record... I should have checked first too.

Shame on him also for slandering my Disabled Veteran status. I served our great country proudly, clearly he has never been in the military. Find someone who has... support our veterans! They deserve it, this guy doesnt.

I cant understand why Mr. Vet would have told the office how nice the job was, and not only paid for the service once it was completed, but also tip the workers for there job well done if it was such awful work.
The reason he has waited this long to get his fence fixed is because when i got an estimate for him, he said he didn't want the company i hired, and wanted to get an estimate of his own. Which is perfectly fine! However I told Mr. Vet that I had seen what he had posted, and when he removes the slander and untrue comments he made on the web site(s) that i would be more than happy to pay him for the fence part he had put in by the company he hired, but not until then. I am not sure why it needed to be replaced, since the post and cap were only bumped and bruised, not destroyed. Anyhow for the client I was willing to replace it to keep him happy. Had he allowed the people who came to look at the "damage" when i had them out there and had he not posted what he did, then it would have all been resolved a long time ago.

one last thing....

If Mr. Vet had not taken the steps he did and posted comments about the work being a "rush job", and that we "destroyed" his fence then the company would have done anything Mr. Vet wanted to do in regards to fixing the fence.

Allen and sons tree service inc employs a full time mechanic for servicing of all equipment. the drivers, ground crew, and climbers DO NOT perform any maintenance EVER, so I cant imagine why my crews would tell Mr. Vet that they needed to return to the shop to maintenance equipment.

Mr. Vet says "Mr. Allen was not on the job", but I will have to completely dis agree with him, yet again, considering that I am Mr Allen, and I personally had the neighbors car moved from their drive way so I could pull the bucket truck into Mr Vets backyard. not to mention that I am the one who introduced the crew to Mr vet that morning, so how could he think that I hadn't been there!?!?

I am not quite sure why Mr. Vet insists on posting these awful reviews online about the job performed on his property, however i can not stand by quietly and not do anything to defend myself, my company, and my crew's!

First i would like to say that i am very sorry that any client of mine feels dis satisfied in any way!
Our goal at Allen and Sons Tree Service Inc. is to provide excellent service to EVERY customer.
However i guess you cant please everyone no matter how hard u try.

I explained to Mr. Vet that it wasn't healthy to do a crown reduction, and explained what care would be best for his particular trees and property.
what was done at his property was the removal of one hemlock tree, pruning of 2 maple trees clearing all obvious dead wood and elevating them off of his and the neighbors roofs, prune one small leaf magnolia tree, cut one walnut tree back to property line, prune one crate myrtle, removal of stump, and clearing fence line of all old wood brush and debris. There's NO way i would of told him this job would have taken all day.. with the equipment and man power that was given, the 4-5, not 2 hr time frame that it took to do the job was sufficient. we were there between 7 and 8am, and were done by noon.
