Since opening its doors in January 1994, owner Laurie Kotter and the staff at The Musician's Institute of Baltimore have been providing expert instruction in a variety of disciplines for students of all skill levels. The facility on Harford Road in Parkville features seven teaching studios for various instruments, and the 18 available instructors cover just about any instrument imaginable. Lessons are available for piano, voice, guitar, bass guitar and upright bass, violin, viola, cello, flute, saxophone, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, tuba and even drums in the specially soundproofed studio on the first floor. Prospective students are encouraged to call ahead to set up their first lesson, or even to find help in figuring out where to start!  Recitals are generally held monthly at Edenwald in Towson.
