IronMan Emotional Discussing 'Premeditated' Abduction Of His Mother

An emotional Cal Ripken said during a news conference Friday at the B&O Warehouse overlooking Oriole Park at Camden Yards that he felt his mother was targeted.

An emotional Cal Ripken said Friday he feels his mother's abduction was premeditated. Ripken addressed a crowd of reporters and cameras Friday at the B&O Warehouse in Baltimore. Baseball's IronMan said Vi Ripken is doing well, 10 days after she was abducted at gunpoint from her Aberdeen home. He added that he is hoping to keep the spotlight on the suspect in the case. Ripken said he believed the evidence indicates his mother was targeted. "There was some thought given to it," he said. "The materials used to bind her were brought there, so there was a lot of evidence that shows somewhat of a plan, or that it was premeditated. Premeditated is my words." Police: No Big Breaks In Vi Ripken Abduction Case

Despite a planned news conference featuring Cal Ripken Friday, there have been no major beaks in the abduction of the National Baseball Hall of Famer's mother.

After nearly 10 days, Aberdeen police continue to look for a major break in the Vi Ripken abduction case. Despite new tips received and a news conference planned for Friday featuring Vi Ripken's son, National Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Budnick said police have not made any major advancements in finding the suspect said to have abducted the 74-year-old Aberdeen resident last week. In an email to media Thursday, Budnick thanked media for publishing a composite sketch and video of the suspect. Really, Dave? My so-called "conspiracy theory" is that there are at least TWO people who SAW Ms. Ripken in a state of distress during that 24-hour period?? TWO people saw this (a woman blindfolded and mouth taped shut in the back seat of the car); and NEITHER FOLLOWED this vehicle while on the phone with 911?? Aberdeen Police Continue To Investigate Vi Ripken Abduction Case

Aberdeen resident Vi Ripken, the mother of Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, was kidnapped from her home Tuesday and found safely in her car in Aberdeen Wednesday morning, police said.

Aberdeen police continue to investigate the Tuesday abduction of Vi Ripken. Ripken, 74, was taken from her home at gunpoint and found unharmed in her vehicle early Wednesday. "We have gotten numerous calls," Aberdeen police spokesman Lt. Fred Budnick told Patch Friday morning. We just ask that people keep them coming. Investigators are looking at each call."
