Fullerton Lincoln Avenue, 4100 block. Between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. May 8. A Sony Playstation 3 and an iPad 2 were stolen from a home by burglars who got inside through an unlocked back door. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be $880. Carney Ellis Avenue, 2400 block. Between 9 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. May 4. The back door of a home was damaged during a burglary. Items were moved around inside the home , but nothing was stolen.

Parkville Harford Road at Putty Hill Avenue. At 2:35 p.m. April 25. Two high school students were robbed as they walked home from school. Two men approached the students and demanded their cell phones; one of the victims told the robbers they didn't have cell phones, and the robbers then demanded their backpacks. When the victims refused, the robbers knocked one of the victims to the ground. The victims then stood and ran to a nearby relative's home. Highpoint Road, 7900 block. Between 8 p.m. April 21 and 8 a.m. April 23. A rear window of a home was broken in an attempt to get inside the house, but no one was able to get inside and nothing was stolen. Parkville Wycliffe Road, 2500 block. At 3:06 p.m. April 18. A neighbor saw three men on the porch of a vacant home. The men damaged a chain lock on a storm door and a deadbolt on the front door but were unable to get inside. Satyr Hill Road, 8700 block. At 10:12 p.m. April 15. Two men were robbed of cash and cigarettes at gunpoint while walking by a group of men in a four-door vehicle. The vehicle approached the victims, a man displayed a handgun and demanded that they empty their pockets. The victims complied and the vehicle drove off, northbound on Waltham Woods Road. A maintenance man at Cub Hill Apartments allegedly downloaded personal photos from residents laptops and shared them with co-workers.
A Nottingham man has been arrested and charged after police say he used his position as a maintenance worker at an area apartment complex to download personal photographs from residents computers. John David Wittman, 54, of the unit block of Chapeltowne Circle, was arrested and faces two counts of third-degree burglary, illegally accessing a computer, copying or possessing a database without permission, posession of obscene materials with the intent to distribute, and publishing or distributing obscene materials, according to a search of online court records. A convenience store employee was robbed at gunpoint in Carney Wednesday night. The employee was closing the Quick Stop Food Mart for the evening around 10:35 p.m. Mar. 20 when he was approached by a man while two other men rummaged through his vehicle, according to a police report. The robber closest to the employee displayed an unknown type handgun and took his keys to the store and to his vehicle, the report states. The three robbers were last seen running down Ridgely Avenue toward Orbitan Court. The suspect who used the gun in the robbery is described as a male between 16 and 20 years old, approximately 5'7" tall and 150 pounds with a thin build. Cell phones, valued at over $2,300, were stolen from a Verizon Wireless store. A burglar used a rock to break open the front door of the building. Police believe this incident to be related to another, similar incident at a Verizon Wireless store in the 8600 block of Pulaski Highway.

Following a possible home improvement scam in Carney, police at Parkville precinct are asking residents to be on the lookout.
Late last week, a Carney resident may have been the target of an attempted home improvement scam, and now police are asking the public to be wary of contractors who arrive uninvited. On March 13, an elderly homeowner in the 2900 block of Superior Avenue was approached by a contractor seeking to perform work on her driveway, according to Parkville police Officer Mark Dorsey. Detectives continue to investigate the incident, but Dorsey said that the woman went to talk to her neighbor after becoming suspicious of the worker. When the homeowner and the neighbor asked the contractor to produce his license, he was unable to and left. "People need to be aware of home improvement scams," Dorsey said. A Satyr Hill man has been arrested and charged in two burglaries. Matthew Ryan Hensler, 23, of the unit block of Carriage Walk Court, faces charges of first-degree burglary, attempted first-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, attempted malicious destruction of property, possession of marijuana, and possession of a concealed dangerous weapon.
