The shooting occurred Monday in an Overlea area neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.
A man has been arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder following the shooting of a 23-year-old man and his 4-year-old daughter in the Elmwood community on Tuesday. Resean Penix, 23, of the 5700 block of Leiden Road, faces two counts each of attempted first-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment as well as two charges related to the use of a handgun in a violent crime, according to a search of online court records. Penix is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, court records show; a preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. May 3 in Baltimore County District Court. Police remain uncertain whether or not two burglaries in the Elmwood neighborhood are related—the information on those burglaries is listed below. Capt. The vehicle was recovered in the 5600 block of Bucknell Road in Baltimore City on Aug. 15. Elmwood Marglenn Road, 6100 block. Between 12 p.m. Aug. 10 and 11:30 a.m. Aug. 11. $3,500 worth of copper pipes were stolen from a vacant house. Burglars got into the house by forcing open a side door.
