UPDATE: Gas Line Break Closes Pulaski Highway Into Rush Hour

Fire and police crews responded to a struck natural gas line Monday morning in Rosedale.

UPDATE (4 p.m.)—The westbound Pulaski Highway road closure Rossville Boulevard and Petrie Way, caused by a gas line break Monday morning, could continue into rush hour. According to police spokeswoman Elise Armacost: Traffic in the area has been diverted because the entire westbound lane of Route 40 is closed. BGE crews estimated that it would take several hours to make the repair and that evening rush hour traffic may be affected. --- UPDATE (11:56 p.m.)— Westbound Route 40 could remain closed between Rossville Boulevard and Petrie Way through rush hour after a gas line was struck by a utility crew Monday morning. Baltimore County utility crews working on an 8-inch sewer line around 9:40 a.m. when they struck a 2-inch gas line near the west bound portion of 8700 block of Pulaski Highway. The lines had marked for digging by Miss Utility and that the county crews were working within guidelines, said Cooke. Just wondering if the Guidelines could be Posted??   more ›
