Watch for detours in the White Marsh area.
The I-95 Express Toll Lanes project is slated to cause another round of lane closures. From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., each day between July 15 and July 19, "all lanes of eastbound Interstate 695 (INNER LOOP) at Interstate 95 (Exit 33) will be completely closed. Traffic will be detoured off Exit 33 to northbound I-95, to westbound MD 43 (Exit 67B, White Marsh Boulevard), to southbound I-95, to eastbound I-695 (Exit 64)," according to a Maryland Transportation Authority press release. The ultimate goal of the project is to attach planned toll lanes to MD 43. Watch for new traffic patterns in the White Marsh area this week.
Construction, along with potential delays and detours, continues on the I-95 Express Toll Lanes project. Two temporary ramps have been installed northbound Interstate 95 to westbound MD 43 (Exit 67B, White Marsh Boulevard), and southbound I-95 to eastbound MD 43 (Exit 67A, White Marsh Boulevard), according to a Maryland Transportation Authority release. A Wednesday afternoon accident may cause delays into the evening rush hour.
Northbound traffic on Interstate 95 remained shut down south of the Bel Air/Edgewood interchange Wednesday afternoon. The interstate was closed to traffic shortly after 12:30 p.m. when two passenger vehicles and a tractor trailer collided in the area, according to Maryland State Police with the JFK Highway Barrack. All lanes of I-95 northbound remained closed as of 4:25 p.m., according to state police. In an email to Patch, one reader said one of three lanes was opened to traffic.
