McAvoy’s Owners Win Hope and Peace Award

The Parkville businesses owners were named the Hope and Peace Foundation’s Community Partner of the Year.

The owners of McAvoy's sports bar are being honored for more than just running a great place to watch the game. Bill and Diane Schmittenger and Adam and Maria Bloom, of Bel Air, will be honored by Baltimore-based Hope and Peace Foundation’s Community Partner of the Year during an award ceremony at 7 p.m., April 13 at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 34, 734 Wampler Road, according to a news release. "At a time when many businesses have been forced to cut out charitable donations, McAvoy’s has sponsored or hosted over 20 events annually to benefit causes and charities within the community," the news release reads.  The owners have hosted more than 20 events locally and contributed to events such as The Hope and Peace’s Foundation Ride …

3 Parkville Area Eateries Participate In Restaurant Week

The annual Baltimore County Restaurant Week begins Friday and runs through Jan. 27.

Three Parkville area restaurants are among 44 participating in the Winter 2013 edition of Baltimore County's Restaurant Week. The event, which begins Friday and runs through Jan. 27, features fixed price three-course meals at area eateries for both lunch and dinner.
