Glen Arm Glen Arm Road, 11900 block. Between 9 and 10 a.m. May 21. A change purse, $10 cash, and bank cards were stolen from a home. Burglars got inside by prying open a sliding door. Once inside the home, glass panels were moved to allow access to a door handle that opened a family room. Police at precinct 8 are warning residents that there's been a recent increase in home burglaries committed during the day.
Daytime burglaries are up in the Parkville area and police are warning residents to take preventative measures. Officer Jason Goorevitz, the community outreach officer for Parkville's precinct 8, wrote an email encouraging residents to keep their eyes out for suspicious activity. "A common method used is for suspects to knock on homeowners doors and if no one answers, attempts are made to gain entry to the residence," Goorevitz wrote."As always, please report any suspicious behavior immediately to police by calling 911." Stacie Lynn Jones, 37, of Edgewood was arrested in a May 9 burglary.
Stacie Lynn Jones, 37, of the 3400 block of Albantowne Way in Edgewood, was arrested and charged May 10 with first-degree burglary, theft, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia, all stemming from a burglary in Parkville the day before. Jones allegedly walked onto the porch of a home in the 8700 block of Harford Road around 7:30 p.m., May 9, and began collecting various household items—brooms, planters, chairs, pots, and baskets—when she was confronted by the homeowner, who called 911. Paul White Jr., who police say stabbed his mother to death and attacked his younger sister, was taken into custody at the scene of the crime early Sunday morning.
A Nottingham area man is charged with the stabbing death of his mother in an incident that also left his sister seriously injured. Paul White Jr., 26, of the unit block of Lerner Court is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault following the incident early Sunday morning, according to a news release from the police department. White is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, police wrote in an email. White argued with his mother, 46-year-old Jeanette Williams, at their home in the unit block of Lerner Court. Police responded to a Nottingham home early Sunday morning where they found one person dead and another injured.
Police have one person in custody following a stabbing early Sunday morning in Nottingham that left one woman dead and another injured. Officers responded to the unit block of Lerner Court around 12:08 a.m. May 5, according to a news release from Baltimore County police spokesman Cpl. John Wachter. A woman had called 911 asking for help but was unable to give any further information before the call disconnected. At the home, officers found two women suffering from stab wounds, Wachter wrote in the email. One woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. A man died Sunday morning after he was reportedly shot at a Rosedale gas station, according to police. Baltimore County police responded to a Shell station in the 6300 block of Kenwood Avenue at 4:28 a.m., according to a news release. There, police said officers found a man in front of the gas station who had been shot at least once. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The police department's homicide unit is investigating the incident, according to the release. The man's name has not yet been released. An Overlea area man and a Baltimore City woman have been arrested and charged with stealing packages from the porches of homes in the Parkville, Overlea and Perry Hall areas over the course of about a month. Julia Ann Hammonds, 52, of the 4200 block of Clydesdale Avenue in North Baltimore and Michael Paul Brown, 33, of the 6200 block of Alta Avenue each face grand theft and burglary charges in connection with the stolen packages. Both suspects have been release on their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 20. Parkville Harford Road at Putty Hill Avenue. At 2:35 p.m. April 25. Two high school students were robbed as they walked home from school. Two men approached the students and demanded their cell phones; one of the victims told the robbers they didn't have cell phones, and the robbers then demanded their backpacks. When the victims refused, the robbers knocked one of the victims to the ground. The victims then stood and ran to a nearby relative's home. Highpoint Road, 7900 block.
