Parkville Eliminated, Overlea Advances In Boys Hoops
First round play started Tuesday in the boys MPSSAA basketball championship tournament.
After one round of play, two local schools remain in competition for their respective region championships. The Overlea Falcons defeated their first round opponent, Bluford Drew Jemison STEM Academy (No. 6), in a Class 1A upset Tuesday evening. A score for the game was not immediately available. Overlea (No. 11) heads to Pikesville (No. 3) on Thursday; tip-off is at 6 p.m. An Overlea win over Pikesville, which earned a first-round bye, would see the Falcons take on the winner of a match-up between Bohemia Manor (No. 7) and Perryville (No. 2) early next week.
