Pop-Up Arts & Crafts Shop Planned For Concert Series

The Parkville Main Street Committee is looking for artists and crafters for the weekly endeavor set to run during the spring concert series.

While Parkvillians are rocking out to the Parkville-Carney Business Association's Spring Concert series at the Lavender Avenue parking lot, just across Harford Road a group of artists and craftsmen will be displaying their wares in a makeshift shop. The pop-up store, conceived by Parkville's Main Street Committee, will run on Friday nights from 5-8 p.m. May 10-June 28 at the Harford Road storefront that used to house Atlantic Deli, next to Jerry D's Restaurant, according to the main street committee's Ruth Baisden. Community Group To Host Oktoberfest Fundraiser

On Saturday you can do three of the best things at once: support Parkville's Main Street initiative while eating German food and enjoying a beer.

If you're looking for something to do this weekend, check out the Parkville Main Street Committee's Oktoberfest event at Racer's Saturday afternoon. The event, held at Racer's Cafe from 3-7 p.m., will benefit the Parkville Main Street Committee—a subgroup of the Greater Parkville Community Council that aims to revitalize the Harford Road business district. A $10 cover at the door includes a souvenir pint glass, a platter of German style food, live entertainment—a band called the Wretched Outlaws will perform— and your first beer. Among other events, the Parkville Main Street Comittee has been responsible for hosting a Christmas tree lighting near the Lavender Avenue parking lot and organizing a dogs day out called the Main Street Pup Crawl…
