Verizon Wireless Store Burglarized For Third Time In 2 Months

Burglars were able to get inside the store by using a key, but this time police were able to get a view of the suspects.

Nearly $15,000 dollars worth of cell phones were stolen from a Verizon Wireless store in the Parkville-Carney area during an overnight burglary on Monday. Around 3:39 a.m. two men entered the store in the 2000 block of E. Joppa Road by using a key to unlock the front door, police said. The two men walked to a closet, used a crowbar to pry it open and stole cell phones, placing them into a plastic bag, police said. In total, they stole 13 iPhone 4S, two Samsung Galaxy III, four Samsung Galaxy Note II, an iPhone 5 and an Droid DNA. Police said the total value of the phones is listed as $14,536. As a matter of proper grammar, by writing $15,000 dollars you are actually writing "15,000 dollars dollars". If you use the "$" in front of the numbers, you do not have to include the word "dollars." Who is doing your editing?   more ›

Police Investigate Possible Connection Between Baltimore, Harford County Burglaries

The burglaries occurred during the month of November at a number of Verizon Wireless stores.

Baltimore County Police are investigating the similarities between four burglaries at cell phone stores in Baltimore and Harford Counties. In each case a Verizon Wireless store was ransacked and a large number of cell phones were stolen. None of the burglaries showed any sign of forced entry and in each instance, burglar alarms were apparently deactivated. "Detectives are aware of some similarities between the burglaries at Verizon stores, and we are working with detectives in Harford County to determine if the crimes are connected," said Cpl.
