Pair of Nottingham Businesses Burglarized
China Chef Chinese restaurant and Walther Liquors were burglarized on the same night.
Enterprising burglars broke into two Nottingham businesses in the same evening, making off with more than $13,000 in cash. The two businesses, Walther Liquors and China Chef Chinese restaurant share a landing and a stairwell leading to the rear doors. Between 1 and 4 a.m. Jan. 25, burglars broke into China Chef and stole cash from a register. During the burglary, they cut phone lines to the building containing the businesses and destroyed a security camera posted near the cash register, according to a police report. The burglars then climbed on top of stacked soda crates taken from the Chinese restaurant to access an unused door to the liquor store that is located above ground level and has no stairwell, the report said.
