March 11-13: Express Toll Lane White Marsh Closures

Maryland Transportation Authority crews will be conducting demolition and bridge removal work this week.

Late night drivers, be advised that the Maryland Transportation Authority will be shutting down segments of Interstate 95 this week in the White Marsh area for the next phase of the I-95 Express Toll Lanes Project, according to a release. Crews will be conducting bridge demolition and removal work beginning Monday night and continuing into Thursday morning—weather permitting. Stay ahead of changing traffic patterns by checking out our Perry Hall Patch Commute Page. All Interstate 95 northbound lanes at the White Marsh Boulevard interchange will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m., Monday into Tuesday. I-695, 1-95, White Marsh Lane Closures In February

Watch for nighttime lane closures this month in White Marsh.

Lane closures are expected to disrupt nighttime traffic in the White Marsh area this month.  Weather permitting, the closures are scheduled between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., each night and morning between Feb. 11 and Feb. 14, and between Feb. 18 and Feb. 21. During those times, all lanes of westbound Interstate 695 (Outer Loop) at Interstate 95 (Exit 33) will be completely closed. The detour route will direct drivers to northbound I-95, to westbound Maryland Route 43 (Exit 67B, White Marsh Boulevard), to southbound I-95, to westbound I-695 (Exit 64), Maryland Transportation Authority officials announced.  The work is part of the ongoing I-95 Express Toll Lanes Project.  The White Marsh portion of the project carries a $142.6 million price tag …

Police: Child Struck at Philadelphia Road, Rossville Boulevard

Emergency crews and Baltimore County police responded to the Rosedale accident.

A child was struck by a car late Friday afternoon in the Rosedale area, Baltimore County police announced. At around 4:56 p.m., a reportedly 7-year-old girl was struck at the intersection of Philadelphia Road and Rossville Boulevard. As of 5:25 p.m., emergency crews and police remained at the scene, according to a release.  The child was planned to be transported to Johns Hopkins Pediatric, police stated. No further details on her condition or the driver were immediately available.   Check Patch for updates.

The biggest problem is that the sidewalks are at the roads edge on 7 and rossvile. They could make an exit on 695 that could come out by Franklin square. Hospital. This would help take alot of trafic off of 7 . They could also have the bus routes go into to where Walmart and home depot are. I drive through that area every day. Jan. 18-21: Philadelphia Road Closure, Detour Planned

Workers plan to replace underground pipes between Mayflower Road and Hospital Drive along Maryland Route 7, impacting the Rosedale and White Marsh area.

This weekend, the State Highway Administration plans to close a stretch of Philadelphia Road, impacting the Rosedale and White Marsh area.  Crews plan to excavate and replace two major underground drainage pipes between Mayflower Road and Hospital Drive, the SHA announced in a release. Beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday and continuing until 5 a.m., Monday, the following detours will go into effect:  In case of inclement weather that disrupts the work, the same detours will go into effect between Jan. 25 and Jan. 28, according to the SHA.  The detours will likely impact those traveling to the Community College of Baltimore County Essex, Franklin Square Hospital and other area institutions and businesses. Police: Man Jumps From Overpass Into I-95 Construction

Emergency crews responded at about 9 a.m. on Thursday, police said.

A man was injured after jumping from an overpass into a construction zone on Interstate 95 Thursday morning. The unidentified man jumped from the ramp carrying traffic from southbound I-95 toward the inner loop of Interstate 695 toward Essex at about 9 a.m., according to Baltimore County police spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher. The man was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with multiple injuries, Rogers-Feher said. The man's condition was not immediately known, and police had no further details.

2 Years of Roadwork Planned for Campbell Boulevard

Ongoing White Marsh roadwork is part of the I-95 Express Toll Lanes project.

For the next two years, Campbell Boulevard is expected to host periodic single-lane closures and construction, the Maryland Department of Transportation announced. The planned roadwork is part of the I-95 Express Toll Lanes Project. Its ultimate goal is to attach toll lanes between White Marsh Boulevard (MD 43) and Interstate 95. When complete, drivers may travel on existing lanes of I-95 at no additional cost, or may use express lanes by paying a toll. The project involves the reconstruction and widening of the existing I-95 bridge over Campbell Boulevard. It requires Campbell Boulevard to be widened to five lanes, with two lanes in each direction and a new center left-turn lane into the Nottingham Square (Target) shopping center. A new …
