Snow Camp
The weather outside might be frightful, but that's exactly how this group likes it.
As much as I like the distinct four seasons in our region, by mid-February I am generally ready for an end to the cold weather. While not really inclined to put my fate in the paws of a ground hog, that Punxsatawney Phil predicted an early spring this year is at least something on which to hang my hope. It seems like it has been weeks since I last saw my yard from under the snow. My favorite walking and hiking trails also await the thaw, but this is exactly the time of year that a local group looks forward to. Each February the Perry Hall chapter of the National Christian Service Brigade, Stockade #852 heads out to Caledonia State Park bordering the Michaux Forest outside of Gettysburg for Snow Camp.
