Councilman David Marks said that complaints about rats are a common complaint in these areas.
Baltimore County will be making rat eradication sweeps through Loch Raven and Hillendale later this month. The sweeps will take place March 25, weather permitting, Councilman David Marks said. "It’s one of the most common complaints I hear from people in the Loch Raven area," Marks said. He said this is the first time the county’s rat eradication program will come through Loch Raven, but that it has previously been active in Hillendale. "This has been a recurring problem,: Marks said. In February, County Executive Kevin Kamenetz touted the success of the Rat Attack program in a news release that reported the county had treated 2,100 homes since April 2012. "With continuing education and enforcement, we have achieved quantifiable …

The councilman, who represents the area, met with community leaders Thursday night.
After conferring with community leaders Thursday night, Councilman David Marks announced plans to pursue legislation related to upping the design standards of the Loch Raven Commercial Revitalization District. "It mainly has to do with things like landscaping, signage and dumpster placement," Marks said. "We needed this years ago." McAllister added that the changes could intice community members to shop local and bring good businesses to the area. Joe Fiedler takes over for Rich Zinkand, who stepped down in December to take over the boy's soccer program at Calvert Hall.
Joe Fiedler knows what it takes to lead a championship team. Fiedler led the boys soccer team to the 2009 Class 1A state title along with appearances in finals in 2006-2007 and trips to the state semifinals in 2003, 2004 and 2008 while at the helm from 1997-2011. Follow Essex-Middle River Patch on Facebook and Twitter. But, Fiedler said at some point you need to seek out new challenges, which is what he did after being named the new CCBC Essex men’s soccer coach. He takes over for Rich Zinkand, who stepped down in December to take over a similar post at Calvert Hall.
