Police: The woman was shot after she didn’t follow orders to drop a handgun.
A woman is in serious condition after a Baltimore County police officer shot her when she would not drop a gun early Saturday morning in Pikesville, police said. Just before 2 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a house in the 3100 block of Northbrook Road for a report of a suspicious person. When they arrived, an officer saw a woman standing in front of the house. When he approached her, she threw a large rock at the house, breaking a window, the release said. The woman then pulled out a handgun and did not drop the weapon after the officer ordered her to do so several times, the release said. Two Baltimore County police officers are on administrative leave after a police involved shooting left one man dead in Dundalk early Sunday morning. Officers responded to Seaside Road and Dunmanway at about 2:15 a.m. on Sept. 23 to investigate a "suspicious subject," Lt. Robert McCullough stated in a press release. "The officers were attempting to interview the subject when he became combative. The subject then suddenly attempted to take one of the officer's firearm. Fearing for the officers' safety, a second officer pulled out his firearm and shot the subject," McCullough stated. A routine traffic stop in Catonsville ends with one man shot in the arm.
12:39 p.m. Update: A Baltimore County police officer shot a suspect who attempted to ram the officer's cruiser after a routine traffic stop, according to officials. At around 11:35 a.m., an officer stopped a white late-model Toyota RAV 4 in an alley behind the 700 block of Frederick Road in Catonsville because the driver was acting suspiciously, according to Capt. John Spiroff, commander of Precinct 1/Wilkens. The driver of the SUV attempted to ram the police car, and the officer fired his weapon once, striking the victim in the arm, according to Spiroff.
