Federal law enforcement officials are seeking to seize six properties in North Baltimore and Baltimore County owned by a woman accused of luring other women to work as prostitutes in the area, according to court documents filed by the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland. The properties are all at least partially owned by Di Zhang, 42, of the 100 block of Edgerton Rd, in Towson, who has been charged with human trafficking and prostitution in Baltimore County District Court. Zhang was arrested on March 8 along with her boyfriend, Yi Dian Dong, 54, who also faces charges of human trafficking and prostitution in Baltimore County. A Dundalk man was charged with attempted murder after Baltimore County Police said he stabbed another man in the throat in Towson on Sunday. At around 10 a.m., Jeshua Joshiah Young, 35, of the 700 block of New Pittsburgh Avenue, allegedly engaged in an argument with a man and woman about money, according to a Baltimore County police report. The argument, which took place at the man and woman's home in the 1600 block of Yakona Road, escalated and became physical. During the altercation, police said Young stabbed the man in the throat and hand, and broke the woman's arm. Young was later arrested, and police recovered a stolen cell phone and the knife from him, according to the report.

Karla Porter allegedly hired a gunman to kill her husband at a Towson Hess gas station in 2010.
The trial date has once again been postponed for an Essex woman accused of hiring a hitman to murder her husband at a gas station in 2010. Karla L. Porter was charged with first-degree murder in the death of her husband, William R. Porter, a manager at the Hess gas station in the 1600 block of East Joppa Road in Towson. Baltimore County prosecutor John Cox said Friday that Karla Porter's trial, which is scheduled at Carroll County Circuit Court, has been postponed from March 18 to Aug. 5 due to "the unavailability of the defense attorneys." The trial was initially slated to begin April 2011. On March 1, 2010, William Porter was shot twice in the head at the Hess gas station. The man was attacked as he was walking home from a shopping center, according to a report from the Towson police precinct.
Three men robbed an intoxicated man who was walking home from a shopping center Friday night. Between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., the assailants stole a wallet, $100 in cash, wrist watch and ring from the man near the unit block of Comet Circle, according to a Baltimore County Police report. Police said the man did not report the attack until nearly 24 hours after the incident because of his inebriated state.

The robber threatened a woman with a knife early Sunday morning.
A woman was robbed of methadone pills while walking near Loch Raven Boulevard early Sunday morning, according to police. Between 1:45 and 2 a.m. Sunday on Yakona Road near Loch Raven Boulevard, a robber, described as a man between the ages of 25 and 30, approached the woman with a knife and demanded she give him what she had in her possession, according to a Baltimore County police report. The woman removed two bottles of methadone pills from her purse, valued at $32, and handed them to the robber. The woman told police she didn't know in which direction the man fled, according to the report.

Al-Sawab Sawab died after suffering from multiple gun shot wounds, police said.
Baltimore County police have charged two men in connection with the murder of a 27-year-old Towson man. Police said they found Al-Sawab Sawab on Nov. 25 suffering from multiple gun shot wounds at his residence in the 7000 block of Lachlan Circle. He later died from his injuries at Sinai Hospital. Kenneth Johnson, 22, and Deonte Robinson, 18, were charged in connection with the death, according to a police statement. Police said Johnson and Robinson went to Sawab's apartment to buy marijuana. A confrontation ensued when Johnson did not have enough money to pay Sawab, and Robinson pulled out a handgun, according to the statement. An off-duty Baltimore City Police officer was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment after pointing his departmentally-issued handgun at people in Towson. Matthew David Daugherty, 28, was arrested around 2:15 a.m. Saturday morning and later released on $75,000 bail. Baltimore County Police responded to the Rec Room at 512 York Road in Towson at 2:15 a.m., where an employee told them an intoxicated off-duty city officer was acting belligerent and saying he had a gun. A homeless man, which a police report notes is nicknamed "Sleepy," was arrested after a property manager allegedly discovered him sleeping on the floor of a Parkville residence. Around 2 p.m. Jan. 7, the property manager found Antonio Shawnelle Woods, 34, sleeping on the floor, according to a Baltimore County police report filed at the Towson precinct. The property manager was using the basement area of the location as a storage space. Woods was charged with second degree burglary. Police said Woods was a former tenant of the property manager. Nothing was stolen from the residence, but a rear basement door was damaged, according to the report.

The woman that allegedly hit two Baltimore City police officers with a car on Wednesday, previously faced theft charges as a result of being a passenger in a car during a fatal accident in July 2011. Alycia Marie Hoffman, 25, was arrested and charged with drug possession and several traffic offenses after she allegedly struck two police officers with a car and then led a chase into Baltimore County, according to police. Hoffman, of Bel Air, after allegedly striking the officers, led police on a chase through Northeast Baltimore, Towson, Parkville and Carney before county police cars boxed her in and forced her to a stop.
