It is less about being white than it is about "good ole boys" of any color. Baltimore County Government leadership at the executive level is inbred. There is an inner circle of leaders and their support staff who can trace their beginnings back to the 1960's. I think this is empowers the "dictator" County Executive model that we enjoy in Baltimore County. In Baltimore County the power passes from one "good ole boy" to the next chosen "good ole boy". I watched as then County Executive Jim Smith made the rounds with his favored successor, Kevin Kamenetz prior to Kamenetz even announcing his candidacy.

It is to laugh. Meg O'Hare a liberal! Just because I do not support business as usual in Baltimore County Government does not mean I am a liberal. Even conservatives understand how backward Baltimore County is with regard to non-whites, how "inbred" Baltimore County Executive leadership is, and I hope that someone is seriously looking into the rumors floating around about "shady" development and land trades in Baltimore County.

ReplyHow are the "good ole boys" of Towson, Don or one of Don's flunkies?

ReplyI am thinking that Baltimore County deserves scrutiny. If it is by the Feds even better.

I wish that I could be as sure as you are that the demotion is deserved. Of course, the County Executive and the Chief (the County Exec's Cop) would set it up to seem like Captain Trentzch is not doing a good job at the Towson Precinct. Don't tell me you put full faith in the crime statistics put forth by Baltimore County.

ReplyI do not know what happened to Martin O'Malley. When he first started as a Baltimore City Council candidate, he seemed like a very different person. He lost his humility. He "rose" above the people and lost touch with the ordinary citizen. He became someone very different who seemed to be solely focused on his own move toward the next step up--Mayor, Governor and now President. It could have been so different.

ReplyJack who wrote at the beginning of this stream of comments has.it right. We can change things only if we organize and vote for whichever candidates can make a difference. Baltimore County government especially at the Executive level is inbred and stagnant. The arrogant performance of CE Kevin Kamenetz at Mays Chapel mirrored his arrogant performance on the County Council when citizens spoke who disagreed with him. I watched him yell at and deride the citizen speaking to the County Council. We definitely need a new County Executive.

Speaking of rants if you read any of Don's and Don's friends rants on other blogs that I have written? This is all they have.
Ask Pres of School Board about $7 million loss. He was on the Board then.
Other tha "double dipping" on retirements what do they really contribute to the good of Baltimore County.
Hate is not in my vocabulary. Disgust ( for mediocre politcal sycophants who work to keep Baltimore County stuck in the world of life befoe diversity ) is in my vocabulary.
Hate perverts, but disgust motivates.
