On the article O'Malley Finishes Last In New Hampshire Presidential Poll

In order to win against Ehrlich, O'Malley complained about a "fee" being a tax. Well O'Malley sure doesn't mind ramming unnecessary taxes on hard working and tax paying Maryland residents! Wait till the full effect of all these taxes hit Maryland residents by 2015. I see this state becoming poorer because businesses will move out of state and the only employers will be the government. I also feel taxpayers should lobby to MANDATE that the Maryland government buildings be made to pay the "rain" tax. Let the public know how expensive it will be for Maryland government to shoulder responsibility for their buildings since they are making businesses and homeowners pay this "rain" tax. How convenient Maryland government buildings are exempt from this tax.

After complaining a fee is a tax, O'Malley should look at his own record as the tax raising master. Sad but O'Malley is causing quite a number of retired Marylanders to move out of state. I will be joining the exodus from Maryland. After checking out various surrounding states, Maryland is not a worker or retiree friendly state for taxes or fees. I will be moving just over the Maryland line. I want to be within driving distance to visit my children and other family members that can't afford to move at this time.

On the article Affordable Apartments for Low-Income Seniors Being Built in Dundalk

ReplyI worked in a business that had quite a number of senior customers. It was heartbreaking to hear how many seniors only survived on social security. Many seniors don't have an income over $30,000/year! If these apartments are similar to the senior apartments on Cove Rd or Kane St, this will be a great addition to the neighborhood. I would rather see my tax dollars spent on senior citizens than on residents that "game" the system by not working; but keep receiving government benefits.

ReplyI am very glad he was charged and sentenced in Baltimore County. If this case was in Baltimore City, he would have been sentenced to time served and be given a suspended sentence. I hope and pray the judges and jurors of Baltimore County continue to punish criminals to the fullest extent of the law.

ReplyApparently, this criminal was never taught to respect other people. I pray he gets life in prison with no chance of parole. How could someone have such rage to kill their own mother? May his family find peace in their sorrow.

I feel the voters in his district should really show their displeasure for his actions. Vote for his opponent. I feel he hasn't done much to help the area he represents. He sure won't get my vote!

ReplyBetter yet Seal Team 2, try to get a job outside of Maryland. You would be shocked on the monetary savings if you moved to Florida or Delaware. The majority of my friends that have left Maryland all agree they have more disposable income due to less taxes and better quality of life. I hope to follow them in a year or two. I am disgusted the way the middle class family is taxed to death in this state. For me, enough is enough. I will be voting my displeasure by moving out of state.

Most drivers DO NOT stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk. I have had many close calls of being rear ended when I stopped for a person in a crosswalk near the Parkville Post Office or the Parkville Library. Drivers have even cussed me out when I stopped! The police department should have a sting operation set up and issue tickets for any driver not stopping when a person is in a crosswalk. This accident proves there needs to be some action taken by the police department.
