Renee Newberry has loved writing for as long as she can remember. She has written creatively since she was six years old, added journalistic writing to her repertoire while studying English at Washington College, and taught Baltimore County Public Schools students how to write well through her recent stint teaching English, reading, and journalism for the school system. She now works as a freelance writer, enabling her to be home with her children, Ben, Ada, and Kate.

Renee has also studied dance since she was six and teaches ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop one evening a week during the school year and over the summer. Additionally, she dances professionally for Common Ground Dance Company in White Marsh.

Renee's wide range of interests causes her to read as much nonfiction, fiction, and poetry as she can with three small children running around and making their various and sundry requests.

She loves writing about the arts, religion, and education, but she will essentially write about anything she can get her hands on. As Lois Lane and Perry White confirmed in Superman, "A good reporter doesn't get great stories ... a good reporter makes them great."

As far as Renee is concerned, everything is interesting and important to someone, and that's enough reason for her to take an interest.
