UPDATED: Baltimore Blast Move To Parkville

The Baltimore-based professional indoor soccer team will now train at the Northeast Regional Recreation Center.

UPDATED (11:10 a.m.) — The Baltimore Blast will have a new home in Parkville for the forseeable future.

The city-based indoor soccer team is moving its training facility to the Northeast Regional Recreation Center, according to a press release. The annoucement was originally scheduled for a press conference Monday afternoon, which has since been cancelled.

The move comes after the team could not reach an agreement with a new management company at the DuBurns Arena in the Canton area where the team previously trained, according to Blast spokeswoman Amy Lewkovich.

Lewkovich said that the team plans to train at the Northeast Regional Recreation Center, 7501 Oakleigh Road, for the forseeable future.

In addition, the team's headquarters have moved to a facility in Edgemere, the news release states. Games will continue to be played downtown at 1st Mariner Arena.

The press event scheduled for Monday afternoon was cancelled to due the team's post season travel to Chicago for a Tuesday playoff game. If the Blast advance to the Championship, the home game of the Championship Series will be Saturday, March 16, according to a news release from the team.
