Police: Chemical Irritant Used in Robbery at Parkville Bank

Police reported the suspect was in custody Monday morning.

Officials are investigating an armed robbery at Parkville's Bay Bank in which a man held up a security guard Monday morning and made off with his bag, prompting the security guard to fire a weapon, the Baltimore County Police Department reported.

At 9:30 a.m., a Dunbar security guard  was leaving the bank—located in the 1700 block of East Joppa Road—when he was accosted in the vestibule by a man armed with a chemical irritant, police said.

After a physical struggle outside the bank, the suspect took a bag from the guard, according to the report.
