Carney Improvement Association Meeting

Come to the meeting of the Carney Improvement Association (CIA) next Wednesday, March 21st at Carney Elementary School at 7 p.m.  Guest speaker from the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy.

Also, we invite you to meet the developer and see the plans for the CVS proposed for the SW Corner of Joppa and Harford Roads.

The only way that this CVS can be built is if the zoning is changed from residential to business.  This zoning change is part of the Comprehensive Zoning Map Process that happens every 4 years.  It is issue 5-019 filed by JC Barr who is the developer for this CVS.

The Carney Improvement Association opposes the plan to build a mega-CVS on the SW corner of Joppa and Harford Roads because the intersection is a failing intersection and the proposed entrance/exit is not safely located (Harford Road curves and descends making visibility poor.  In addition, we think that CVS could make needed changes, e.g , a drive thru window, to its currrent location on Harford Road across Harford Road from The Bowman Restaurant.  This location is much more desirable from the community viewpoint.

If you oppose the building of the proposed CVS, email Councilman David Marks at council5@baltimorecountymd.gov and tell him that you are opposed to CZMP Issue 5-019.
